The Green Valley Community Church Serves the entire community. We were the first Protestant Church organized in the Green Valley Community in 1965 with 80 charter members. The membership now numbers over 850 full and associate members from many denominations. The Green Valley Community Church is a United Methodist Church and we are affiliated with the Desert Southwest Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our purpose, like that of all Christian churches seeking to follow Christ, can be summarized by the concepts WORSHIP, NURTURE and WITNESS... We are a "Church with an Open Heart, Open Mind and Open Door" WORSHIP is our service to God, our praise to Him in song and prayer, in obedience and love. At GVCC our worship draws together believers of varied ages and backgrounds. We seek a worship experience that balances joy with reverence, vitality with dignity, warmth with order. Most of all, we focus on Christ and God's revelation to us through the Scriptures. NURTURE is our caring for one another as brothers and sisters in Christ. We are committed to the teaching of Scripture to them - seeking to help them know how this truth can be lived out in our everyday lives. We are seeking to care for one another in times of sickness, discouragement, sorrow, and other crises. WITNESS is both our privilege and responsibility. We tell the story to the community about the Good News of Jesus Christ and how He Saves all those that come to Him. |
